Released on March 12, 2013 in North America for the PSP, God of War: Ascension was published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game features single player action/adventure gameplay, which can be played online or off-line although the online multiplayer mode requires a PlayStation Plus account. This game follows three previous titles in the series: God of War (2005), God of War II (2007), and God of War III (2010). This game is similar to its predecessors, but with some added features. Upon starting the game, the player is greeted with a blue-and-gold interface that appears very similar to Kratos' previous armor in previous titles. There are four options on the main screen: "Single Player," "Multiplayer," "Extras," and "Extras (Again)," which contains three additional options: "Cheats," "Secrets," and "Credits." Single Player mode allows players to play either campaign or challenge of the selected section. Campaign consists of 6 chapters, each with 6 levels called The Furies. Challenge consists of 6 sets, each containing 6 ordeals called The Labyrinth. The player must pass the ordeals in order to complete the set. The ordeals range from basic survival to more complex challenges. Multiplayer mode allows players to compete with others online or offline, while both modes can be played while playing Single Player mode. Players must have a PlayStation Plus account in order to play this mode. Extras mode allows players to unlock trophies and see movie clips from previous "God of War" games, as well as view a non-playable section that features a flashback of Kratos' past and his life with Athena. Extra content is only unlocked by completing the game. Throughout the game, there will be several text screens that will offer details on what is going on during those moments. Cheats mode allows players to alter certain aspects of gameplay, which can alter the game in some way, either positively or negatively. There are 4 cheats for this game, which are as follows: Secrets mode allows players to find hidden objects that are only revealed by using the right combination of cheats. Players can also unlock concept art of certain characters or weapons that were used during development. After finding and unlocking an item, the player will be able to view it by pausing the game and going to "Extras." This option is locked until the player unlocks a red vase hidden in one of the later chapters. god of war ascension psp iso cfa1e77820
